Before the race


Guidelines

ARTICLE 1: DENOMINATION

The Bogota Half Marathon comprises two different courses: a 21-kilometer course (officially measured at 21,097 meters) and a separate 10-kilometer recreational course. These routes differ and take place at different times. Participants gather at the events plaza in Simon Bolivar Park, and the races begin on Calle 60 between Calle 63 and Calle 53.

ARTICLE 3: PARTICIPATION IN THE BOGOTÁ HALF MARATHON

All individuals over 18 years old are eligible to participate in the 21-kilometer race, while the 10-kilometer recreational race welcomes participants over 14 years old. It's imperative that participants are registered beforehand and have agreed to adhere to the rules and conditions of the race.

Courses will be subject to change according to the city's construction plan.

ARTICLE 6: START OF THE RACE

ARTICLE 6.1: START OF THE 21 KM RACE

Please keep in mind that the start of the 21 km race is organized by estimated race time. This means that the color of your exit zone will correspond to your estimated race time.


ARTICLE 6.2: START OF THE 10 KM RECREATIONAL COURSE

The 10 km race is divided by categories. Please note that the color of your exit zone will correspond to your category.


ARTICLE 7: REGISTRATION

The Bogota Half Marathon may close its registration process in any of the following stages or if all registrations are sold:

Please keep in mind the following information:

  1. The organization will reserve the right of participation and admission to the event.
  2. All athletes who, at the date of registration to the event have administrative and/or disciplinary processes open with the organization and/or the Colombian Athletics Federation, will not be allowed to participate in the event.
  3. The runner is the one who submits the information at the time of registration and therefore is responsible for verifying: The number he/she receives, the category in which he/she registered, the modality in which he/she will compete and the assigned branch (male or female), and will personally report any non-conformity and/or change to the organization until 6:00 p.m. of the day before the event. After this deadline the content of the registration will be understood as accepted and the runner waives any claim.
  4. Athletes who wish to register as elites, must be federated athletes and can register ONLY through the Colombian Athletics Federation in the city of Bogota.
  5. The registration form and the back of the competition number must be completely filled out.
  6. The registration fee will not be refundable under any circumstances.
  7. Once the official results have been notified by the Colombian Athletics Federation to the race organization and published on the official website of the event: www.mediamaratonbogota.com, athletes will have five (5) working days from the publication for the presentation of any claim (if applicable). Once this period has expired, the results will be considered as accepted by all participants.

ARTICLE 8: COMPETITION NUMBER AND RACE KIT PICK UP

Athletes kits and race numbers can be collected at Expomedia (Corferias) from Thursday, July 25th, to Saturday, July 27th, 2024, between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Claiming the competition number and the kit is mandatory, since only on these days and times will pickup be available. Competition numbers will not be given out on the day of the race.

Race numbers must be worn at the front of the official T-shirt, with the hooks provided for this purpose. If you are unable to go to Corferias to claim your kit, you may send a representative with the registration form, authorization letter and a photocopy of the registration holder's ID card.

The registration fee will not be refundable under any circumstances and there will be no changes in distance or t-shirt size.

Please note that under no circumstances and in the event that you cannot participate in the race or claim the competition kit on the dates established and communicated in advance by the organization, will you be able to claim the competition kit, or demand a refund of the registration fee.


ARTICLE 9: MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

Bogota Half Marathon will have a first aid service and medicalized ambulances at each of the points of the Race distributed as follows:

Services will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If you need medical assistance and you are not near any of these points, contact the emergency line 123 and assistance will be sent to you.


ARTICLE 10: OFFICIAL RESULTS

The official results of the Race will correspond only to those reported by the Colombian Athletics Federation and such information will be the only one valid for the purpose of awarding prizes.


ARTICLE 11: MEASUREMENT SYSTEM CLASSIFICATIONS

The classification and results will be published 4 hours after the race on the website: www.mediamaratonbogota.com.


ARTICLE 12: DISQUALIFICATIONS


ARTICLE 13: PRIZES

TO BE DEFINED

The winning athletes in each of the categories will be announced on the official MMB website, corresponding to the list provided by the Colombian Athletics Federation.

The prizes for the 21 kilometers race, open category, will be published only after the results of the World Athletics anti-doping tests are known.

The prizes for the rest of the categories of the 21- kilometer and 10 kilometer courses will be given out upon presentation of the copy of the identity document, copy of the RUT (Colombian Single Tax Registry), copy of a bank certification and payment account information.

*These values are calculated taking into account all withholding taxes in accordance with the provisions of Law 1819 of 2016.


ARTICLE 14: RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALL PARTICIPANTS


ARTICLE 15: CLOAKROOM SERVICE

The Organization will make available to the athletes the service of a cloakroom tent. Only clothing may be stored in such tent, and it is forbidden to store any kind of valuables (animals, wallets, documents, money, cell phones, electronic devices, etc.). The organization is not responsible for loss and/or theft of objects left in the cloakroom.


ARTICLE 16: ABANDONMENTS

In case of having to abandon the competition, the athlete must inform the Organizing Committee.


ARTICLE 17: JUDGING

The Bogota Half Marathon will be held subject to the judging rules of World Athletics and the Colombian Athletics Federation.


ARTICLE 18: ACCEPTANCE OF THE CONDITIONS STIPULATED BY THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

All participants, by attending the event and in case of any situation not reflected in these rules, will be subject to the conditions stipulated by the Organizing Committee. I accept the terms and conditions established in this document, which I have understood and accepted voluntarily.


ARTICLE 19: ACCEPTANCE OF CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION FOR ALL GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANTS

I freely, spontaneously, and voluntarily declare that:

1. I have decided to participate in the Bogotá Half Marathon2024 in its ten (10K) or twenty-one (21K) courses (hereinafter, "the Race") to be held on July 28, 2024, organized by Correcaminos de Colombia and the Colombian Athletics Federation (hereinafter, "the Organizers"). 2. That I am in perfect physical, mental and health conditions, as well as adequately informed that I must be well trained to participate in the event and that the organization recommends that all registrants undergo a strict medical evaluation prior to the race. 3. I do not suffer from any illness, injury and/or disability and/or condition that disqualifies me from participating in the Race, or that makes it advisable not to participate in the event. 4. I am aware of the sports and medical recommendations that I must follow to appropriately participate in the race, taking into account my physical condition and personal circumstances. 5. I am fully aware that if at the date of execution of the Race I present any of the following conditions I will not be able to participate in it, nor will I be able to request the refund of the money corresponding to the registration fee: pregnancy, drunkenness, under the effect of psychoactive substances, heart diseases, respiratory diseases, use of crutches, casts and/or prosthesis and all those conditions that disqualify my participation, in case of participating in some of these circumstances or in other similar ones I release the Organization from all responsibility, since I participate under my own responsibility. 6. I will accept any decision of the Organization regarding my participation in the Race. 7. I assume all risks associated with my participation in the Race including, but not limited to falls and accidents, illnesses and even injuries or death, generated among other reasons, by my medical or clinical history, contact with participants, dehydration, the consequences of the weather, such as temperature and/or humidity, vehicular traffic and road conditions, and in general all risks that I declare are known and valued by me, because the activity during the development of the Race will be under my exclusive control and execution as a participant. 8.Having read this declaration, knowing the risks and considering that I accept them by participating in the race, I, on behalf of myself and any person acting on my behalf, release the organizers of the Race, the Colombian Athletics Federation, the Athletics League of Bogotá, volunteers, the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, the District Institute for Recreation and Sport IDRD, sponsors and/or representatives and successors, from any claim or liability of any kind arising as a result of my participation in this event. 9. Likewise, I exonerate the aforementioned from responsibility for any loss, theft and/or robbery that I may suffer. 10. I understand that without exception, it is forbidden for those registered and/or attending the race to carry out advertising, promotional and branding activities other than those organized by the official sponsors of the event and authorized by the Organizers. The Bogota Half Marathon is a private event and therefore reserves the right of admission and stay of people who do not comply with this condition. 11. I accept that the organization of the race may suspend the event due to weather, public order, vandalism and all those that put at risk the integrity of the participants. 12. Likewise, I declare that I know and have read the rules and the declaration of exoneration of the race published in any of the means of registration (physical or virtual), in the web page www.mediamaratonbogota.com and I understand that the registration to the race gives me the right to participate in it. Under no circumstances and in the event that I cannot participate in the race or claim the competition kit on the dates established and communicated in advance by the organization, will I be able to claim the competition kit, nor demand a refund of the registration fee, nor request the postponement of the registration for subsequent events. 13. The information provided in the registration regarding the size of the T-shirt is for statistical use; it does not guarantee the participant that at the time of delivery of the T-shirt, the informed size will be available. 14. Entries are not non-transferable. No transfer of entries from one runner to another is permitted. 15. I acknowledge that no changes will be made to the size of the T-shirt, last of the T-shirt or distance selected after the registration has been made. Registration for the 2024 Bogota Half Marathon only applies to the 2024 version of the event. 16. I am aware that, according to the rules established by World Athletics and the Colombian Athletics Federation, the Official Time of competition will be the Pistol Time, that is, the time that elapses from the starting gun to the moment the runner crosses the finish line. The chip time is the one that allows the athlete to measure and know the time spent between the passage through the starting line and the passage through the finish line regardless of the position or place where he/she is located at the start of the competition. 17. I authorize the Organization and sponsors of the Race to: a) Use photographs, films, videos, recordings and any other media by which the Race has been registered for any legitimate purpose including advertising purposes, without any compensation or economic obligation whatsoever. b) I authorize the Company to use my data to promote benefit programs, offer products or services of the Company, conduct surveys for commercial, financial or advertising purposes through text messages (SMS), e-mail, among others, and/or share my data with third parties related or with whom I have or will have some kind of business relationship.

For the treatment of your personal data, we will comply with Law 1581 of 2012 and the rules that regulate it.
