ARTICULO 4: ACCEPTANCE OF PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS
FOR ALL REGISTERED ATHLETES IN GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL CATEGORIES
I freely, spontaneously and voluntarily declare that:
1. I have decided to participate in the 2020 Bogota Half Marathon, in its ten (10 km) or 21 (21 km) courses (hereafter referred to as “the race”) that will take place on July 26th 2020, organized by Correcaminos de Colombia and the Colombian Federation of Athletics (hereafter referred to as “The organizers”). 2. That I am in optimal physical, mental and health conditions, and that I am aware of the training needed to participate in the event and of the physical effort it implies, and that the “Organizers” recommend all participants to complete a thorough medical evaluation before the event. 3. That I do not suffer from any disease, lesion or inability and/or condition that prevents me from participating in the race or impedes me from participating. 4. That I am aware of the sportive and technical recommendations that I need to keep in mind in order to correctly participate in the race, taking into account my physical condition and personal circumstances. 5. That I am fully aware of the fact that, in case of presenting one of the following conditions, I will not be able to participate in the race or ask for a reimbursement of my registration fees: pregnancy, state of intoxication, use of psychoactive drugs, heart disease, respiratory disease, use of crutches, casts or prostheses and all other conditions that impede my participation. In case of participating under one of these circumstances, I disclaim the organizers of all responsibility, as I am participating under my own responsibility. 6. That will accept any decision the organizers make in regards to my participation in the race. 7. That assume all risks associated to my participation in the race including, but not limited to, falls and accidents, diseases and even lesions or death, generated among other reasons by my medical or clinical history, the contact with other participants, dehydration, consequences of the weather such as temperature and humidity, vehicle traffic and road conditions, and in general all risks that I declare I am aware of, taking into account that all activity during the race will be under my control and exclusive execution as participant. 8. Having read this statement, knowing the risks and considering that I accept them by merely participating in the race, I, on behalf of myself and of any person that represents me, disclaim the race’s organizers, the Colombian Federation of Athletics, Bogota’s Athletics League, Volunteers, Alcaldia Mayor de Bogota, Instituto Distrital para la Recreacion y Deporte IDRD, sponsors and/or representatives and successors of all reclamations or responsibilities that may arise as consequences of my participation in the race. 9. I also release all of the parties mentioned before from any liability related to any loss, theft or robbery that might occur. 10. I understand that, without exception, it is forbidden for registered athletes and other assistants to engage in advertising activities, promotional activities and activities related to brands that differ from the event’s official sponsors and thus authorized by the organizers of the Bogota Half Marathon. The event is of a private nature, and for this reason it reserves the right of admission and stay of anyone that doesn’t comply with this rule. 11. I accept that the event’s organization may suspend the race for reasons associated with the weather, public order, vandalism and all circumstances that jeopardize participants’ integrity, as well as unforeseeable events or events of force majeure, and that, in any of these cases the payment of my registration fee will not be reimbursed, and there will be no compensations of any sort. 12. I declare that I have read and understood the race’s rules of procedure and the disclaim declaration published in all registration channels (physical and online), on the website www.mediamaratonbogota.com and I understand that registering for the race gives me the right to participate in it. The information provided in the registration form regarding shirt sizing is for statistical use only; it does not guarantee that, in the moment of claiming the competition kit, the size listed in the registration form will be available for the participant. 14. I acknowledge that, in accordance with the norms established by the IAAF and the Colombian Federation of Athletics, the official competition time will be the pistol time, meaning that it is the time that passes between the starting shot and the moment that the runner crosses the finish line. Chip time is the time that allows the athlete to measure and know the time between his passing over the exit line and his stepping on the finish line regardless of the position or place in which he is located in the competition’s exit corridor. 15. I authorize the organization and the race’s sponsors to a) use photographs, videos, movies, recordings, and any other media form by which the race has been registered for any legitimate use including advertising usage without any compensation or financial obligation. B) I authorize the companies to use my information for the promotion of benefit programs, offer the companies’ products or services, and conduct surveys wit commercial, financial or advertising purposes through text message (SMS), email, among others and/or share my information with associated third parties with which they have or should have any sort of commercial relationship.
