The Bogota Half Marathon’s Volunteer program is an initiative that intends to generate a positive image of the city of Bogotá, and of its surroundings, by working together with the communities participating in the event. The program seeks the community’s active collaboration in the organization and execution of the most important street race in Latin America.


Duties:

The volunteers at the Bogota Half Marathon will be in charge of supporting the activities regarding the event’s organization. This includes multiple aspects:

  • Protocol
  • Support for national and international athletes
  • Staff supervision
  • Medal station
  • First aid stations
  • Hydration stations
  • Anti-doping control
  • Measuring systems
  • Wardrobe buses
  • Athlete information stands
  • Sponsor support

Benefits:

Volunteers at the Bogota Half Marathon will receive a complete training in the following topics:

  • Social Skills: We will consolidate volunteers’ capacity of acting, behaving and interacting correctly and positively within a community.
  • Massive Scale Events: We will review the process and norms necessary for the planning and execution of massive scale events.
  • First Respondent: We will instruct volunteers in the basic actions that need to be taken in case of emergency.

Requirements:

  • The candidate must be in grade 10th or 11th.
  • The candidate must be 16 years or older.
  • The candidate must be pursuing (or must have completed) a university, technical or technological degree.
  • The candidate must be available on weekends for meetings and training sessions.
  • The candidate must have a positive attitude towards working within a community.
